Renowned packaged drinking water brand Bisleri has ventured into carbonated drinks once again. Earlier, it had attempted to launch “Bisleri Pop”, a sub-brand with four varieties of carbonated soft drinks, viz.: Spyci, Limonata, Fonzo and Pina Colada.
Spyci is a masala cola-flavoured drink, Limonata is a lime and mint-flavoured drink, Fonzo is a mango-flavoured fizzy drink, and Pina Colada is a pineapple juice and coconut cream-flavoured fizzy drink. But the brand could not garner a positive response for these drinks.
Bisleri Ventures into Carbonated Drinks Again with spicy & Limonata
Despite its failed attempt in the year 2016, Bisleri returned once in mid-2018 with a single mango-flavoured drink, Fonzo. Now, it has brought back two more of its previous carbonated drink collection, Spyci and Limonata. All these fizzy drinks are said to have less sugar and no artificial flavouring in them.
Limonata and Spyci are both being reintroduced primarily by means of digital and outdoor advertising. The brand’s sampling drive includes a “buy 1, get 1 free” offer, as well as attending modern trade outlets, youth events and shows. Also, it is counting on the flavours and tastes to be the major selling points of these fizzy drinks.
Fonzo, Spyci and Limonata are available in cities like, Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad only, as of now; accounting for only about 5-7% of the brand’s sales volumes. Bisleri plans to use carbonated fruit drinks to corner 25% of its business over the next two years.
