Shopping for apparel online has become a craze nowadays. There has been an onslaught in partnerships between brands and e-commerce platforms for maximum visibility. Celebrities are also making use of these platforms for promoting their brands. Recently, Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda has launched his fashion brand “Rowdy Wear’’ on Myntra.
Originally started in mid-2018, “Rowdy Wear” offers a selection of shirts, sweatshirts, tees, kurtas; and accessories such as hoodies, jackets, caps, belts, sneakers and joggers for youth and kids. Previously, these items were available only via ‘Rowdy’ app. Now, with his growing fan base, the actor aims to extend the brand outreach nationally. Partnering with Myntra will enable the brand to reach tier 2 and 3 cities.
With celebrities being fashion idols for a long time now, any such initiative taken by them makes a statement. Streetwear has become quite popular. The Rowdy wear collection ensures sustainability and durability of each item. It reflects an attitude of self-expression. The collection will be available on Myntra from 12 February, 2020.
Vijay Deverakonda is the latest in a long line of film actors to launch their retail brands on Myntra. The retailer also features actor Mahesh Babu’s menswear brand, “the Humble Co”, actor Hrithik Roshan’s fitness apparel brand, “HRX”, actor Saif Ali Khan’s fashion brand, “House of Pataudi”, actress Anushka Sharma’s ladieswear brand, “Nush”, and cricketer Virat Kohli’s menswear brand, “Wrogn”.
